Oncology Children's Foundation (OCF)

We support the Oncology Children's Foundation (OCF) which is a not-for-profit children's charity dedicated to finding a cure for sick and critically ill children suffering from cancer, leukaemia and other serious cancer related illnesses.

In Australia today more children die of oncology related conditions than any other disease. During 2006 over 700 Australian children under the age of 16 were diagnosed with cancer. Thirty years ago most children with cancer died, now 75 per cent can be cured permanently. This dramatic improvement is the result of an increase in the amount of money being directed into research.

The OCF is the only Australian charity which exclusively devotes its profits to research into childhood cancer. The funds are channelled into a number of research activities covering Advanced Diagnostics and Experimental Therapeutics. These include the Tumour Bank and Gene Therapy Programs at the Children's Hospital at Westmead and a Drug Discovery program at the University of New South Wales.
